Terms of Use

Urban Imports will not be held responsible for any delays in the shipment of your vehicle that are outside of our control. This includes delays caused by our contractors or workshop facilities. We hold no obligation for any delayed time. Urban Imports will not be held responsible for any inaccuracies in the information disclosed by Japanese auction houses. For example, if the auction sheet states that a vehicle has no tints, but upon arrival tints have been installed. We are not liable for any damages caused by shipping companies or other external contractors. All vehicles being shipped are insured by our shipping company, and if damages do occur, we will provide you with photos and work towards finding the best solution. Full payment must be made before the release of the vehicle to you. No warranty is expressed or implied, including under the Consumers Guarantees Act 1993. Urban Imports acts as an importation assistance agent and not as a vehicle retailer, merely guiding our clients through the importation process. Missing or stolen parts under $500 are not covered by insurance. Please note that there is no warranty expressed or implied for the vehicles advertised on behalf of Urban Imports. These vehicles are sold on an "as is, where is" basis, and it is the buyer's responsibility to inspect the vehicle prior to purchase. Urban Imports acts as a free advertising agent and will not be held responsible for any misleading or inaccurate information disclosed by the advertiser.

Auction Access :

Deposits are refundable, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the Deposit section. Upon making a bid and deposit, Urban Imports will then handle the auction logistics. If you do not participate in the bidding process, we reserve the right to revoke your bids and refund your deposit. However, there may be a possibility to retain a 10% fee for services rendered, which we can discuss further. Once a car has been won on your behalf through the auction, cancellations are not allowed. To account for the potential cost of cancellations, we may opt to impose a cancellation fee or increase the deposit amount.

Bidding :

Bids must be confirmed two hours prior to the start of the auction, after which all bidding will be closed. If you decide to cancel your bid it must be prior to the start of the auction. Only authenticated users, or those authorized by Urban Imports, may bid and purchase vehicles. Authenticated users are entitled to free auction sheet translations and advice.
After bidding and winning a vehicle, each account is only allowed to win one vehicle. Once that one vehicle has been won , all other bids will be canceled. To import multiple vehicles at the same time, a pre-consultation and extra deposit will be required.

Deposit :

Your deposit is fully refundable at any time you choose to not use our services. Refunds typically take 1-3 days and will be returned to the same bank account from which the deposit was made. There will be no refunds for deposits made after bidding and winning a car, as this covers cancellation and relisting costs overseas. An additional deposit of $1000 may be required for vehicles over $40,000 NZD. If you have made a deposit and are not using our services, we reserve the right to revoke your auction access and refund your deposit.
